The writer mentions the "freedom rooted in anarchy and chaos," but Garcia once mentioned his discovery at the acid tests that "formlessness and chaos lead to new forms, and new order," and the Dead certainly relished the non-directional aspects of their park shows, where organization could be kept to a minimum (but, as Garcia said, still had to be present).<br /><br />The same page in the Village Voice also has an article on the 6/13/69 Family Dog opening.
