Grateful Dead Movie Screenshots

This is a collection of screenshots not used in the Who's Who guide:

We compiled more shots than we could use in the post, so these are some of the "outtakes."
These aren't meant to represent the movie as a whole - they were simply alternate candidates to include in the guide, when picking one shot for each person proved difficult. These pics are weighted around band & crew (for most of the other people we only took one shot). You could easily get a hundred other good shots from the movie...

  1. Hunter was living in England for much/all of 1974. He was in the Bay Area in November to record "Tiger Rose" but I kind of suspect he came back after the Winterland shows. But, it was also the period where he was still trying to stay off-camera so he also could've maybe legitimately just stayed off camera.

    1. Yeah, since we know Hunter was in the Bay Area in late '74/early '75, it raises the question: was he so disenchanted with the Dead he skipped these shows, or did he just ask not to be shown on film? (The movie does include the still of him, anyway.)

    2. Could really imagine it going either way. By '77 when the Movie was done, Hunter was slightly less camera-shy & in '76 had started performing under his own name instead of calling himself Lefty Banks.
